Akton® Cubed Pad contains Akton® gel and is designed to help reduce the risk of pressure ulcers. This pad has a castellated top, making it easier to drape, and allowing movement of air, which means that body heat can dissipate. Primarily used to reduce shear, for people who are at risk of pressure ulcers.
The Akton® Cubed has excellent draping qualities for use over another base cushion (always refer to a therapist for advice) to boost pressure relief for clients. It can be used effectively for rise and recliner chairs and the cubed design will envelop effectively. The cube construction of the pad surface allows air circulation, provides cushioning from mild impact, heat dissipation and the comfort of sitting.
