The medical Technology Group (MTG) is a coalition of patient groups, research charities and medical device manufacturers (www.mtg.org.uk)
which works to make technologies available to whoever needs them. The
MTG believes that ‘patients and clinicians need better information about
medical technologies so they can make informed choices about their
medical care.’
The Bulletin below highlights the opinions of Ian Liddell-Grainger that ‘we all want to be able to rely on the NHS for safe, high quality services and support that speed recovery, reduce stress and, where possible, enable patients to resume normal, active lives.’ He goes on to highlight the dangers of ‘low value’ procedures published by the Audit Commission in April of this year.
