The end of September saw Sumed attend as a Corporate partner at ‘Wound care in the Noughties’, the Leg Club’s 10th anniversary conference which was held in Worcester.
The Leg Club is a foundation that has been created to relieve suffering from leg ulcers and associated conditions through the implementation of an award winning model that motivates and empowers patients to take ownership of their care in order to alleviate their suffering and reduce the stigma attached to their condition. It also seeks to advance education in all aspects of leg health amongst suffers, carers, the general public and healthcare professionals.
The first day of the full two day programme saw delegates participating ‘hands on’ at a variety of different workshops including ‘Latest technology in practical ABPI assessments’ and ‘ Compression bandaging in the noughties!’ through to ‘How to set up a Leg Club’.
The second day consisted of a full programme of topical lectures presented by numerous eminent speakers from the industry including Consultant Nurse and Senior Lecturer at Worcester PCT and Worcester University, Jackie Stephen-Haynes.
With over 150 delegates attending the event, the 10th anniversary of the conference generated the highest number of attendees to date, illustrating just how wide the Leg Club message is spreading!
