Description

Sumed Yathan Second Skin Heel Sleeve is a medical device for the protection of the elderly or fragile atrophic skin and aids in Heel Pressure Ulcer prevention. It can be used in homecare, nursing homes/facilities, hospitals and clinics for the fixation of non-adhesive wound dressings and can help prevent skin degradation and pressure points. It can also help in the treatment of pressure ulcers.

Properties:

Made of polymer gel and pleasant to wear, ideal for padding, can be washed, disinfected and re-used and does not stick to the skin. The Heel Sleeve offers all-round protection against injuries and reduces shearing forces and significantly decreases pressure on the foot.

Soft on the kin and easy to apply with minimal force. Allows for air circulation and free range of movement.

Free from allergenic substances.

The heel is the 2nd most common area for and this product has all the qualities to help prevent/reduce the effect of a pressure ulcer on the heel.

Sizes available:

There are two sizes available, small (UK Shoe size 1-6) and medium (UK Shoe size 5-10).

Instructions for Use:

When using Sumed® Yathan Second Skin Heel Sleeve, ensure the Heel Sleeve is the correct size for the foot. The filled in squares on the sleeve must be positioned on the underside of the heel and ankle so that the foot is cushioned as good as possible. The longer part of the Heel Sleeve should be fitted on the leg and the shorter part round the foot. Having a loose fit on the foot will give the best results. A loose sock can be worn if the heel sleeve is being used when walking or standing.

Durability of the Heel Sleeve depends on the level of use. Remove the Heel Sleeve at least once a day for a minimum of 4 hours. Hand wash daily and machine wash weekly in a net back with a maximum temperature of 60°C.

Storage: Do not expose to sunlight. Store at room temperature and keep dry.
